Sofía Sarmiento
Operations & Partnerships Coordinator
Sofía is an operations strategist, collaborative problem-solver, and bilingual professional dedicated to helping mission-driven organizations work more effectively through strong systems and meaningful relationships. As the Partnership & Operations Coordinator at RSS, she provides critical operational, research, and administrative support to ensure the successful execution of RSS partner engagements. This role supports the implementation of fund development strategies, grant writing processes, and communications efforts by managing systems, preparing materials, and maintaining organized workflows across multiple projects.
Sofía has been working as a bilingual assistant since her early 20s, a skill she built through self-teaching and a drive to connect with others. As a Venezuelan immigrant, her professional path has been shaped by a deep understanding of what it means to navigate new challenges from the ground up. This experience fueled her long-held goal of joining the NGO sector, where she can help others access the support and resources she once had to find for herself.
Since transitioning into administrative work in 2016, she has focused on bringing order and harmony to the teams she supports. Sofía believes that kindness is the essential ingredient that keeps a workplace safe and cohesive. She approaches her role with a rare level of honesty—meeting mistakes or obstacles with a helpful attitude and a transparent heart.
It is this commitment to being both trustworthy and human that has allowed her to build lasting relationships with her clients, who value her not just for her administrative support, but for the genuine care she brings to her work.
